About Bark In The Park

Join us on October 5, 2013 at Veteran's Park in Alabaster for Bark in the Park 2013! This all-day affair will feature activities for both pets and people, including contests, live entertainment, and children activities.

Back again this year is our annual Mutt Strut, a mile-long walk around the park during which participants have the option to raise funds benefiting the homeless pets at Shelby Humane Society. Entry to Bark in the Park is free.

In February 2007, representatives from the City of Alabaster invited us to join them in creating a fun event for dogs and their people. Since then, Bark in the Park has continued to grow year after year, with an estimated 5,000 attendies in 2011! Bark in the Park 2013 promises to be the biggest year yet, so we look forward to seeing you there!

How You can Participate

To sign up, you may print the forms and mail/email them to us. Or, click here to register online. All proceeds benefit the homeless cats and dogs who temporarily call Shelby Humane Society "home." We hope you will consider joining us this year to make Bark in the Park 2013 the best one yet!

About Shelby Humane Society

Shelby Humane Society remains committed to our mission to care for homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals and educate the community to instill an increased awareness and commitment to the responsibility or animal ownership and protection. In 2012, we saved more than 2,600 lives through adoptions and our Shelter Partners Transport program. We also continue to provide valuable resources to the community through our Quick Fix program and vaccine clinics.
